Purdue University Student Union was looking for a new twist on a campus favorite. Pappy’s sweet shop was a staple in the student union for over 70 years. But as the union services grew along with the new food and dining options on campus, Pappy needed to hold up next to the megabrands around it like Starbucks. Mixdesign was brought in to refresh the brand, redesign the interior as well as acquire and apply research that would improve the operational efficiencies as well. Here is a sample of the improved attributes for the Purdue Icon.
With the partnership and guidance of mixdesign we were able to add all of the missing pieces and allow their creativity and experience to lead the process. Without the mixdesign team we would have continued to spin our wheels and likely underachieve. For the record this group was selected after interviewing three significant firms, each with their particular area of expertise, but none that we felt hit the mark like mix.Gary C.
